Woman Wednesday: Body Image and Confidence

Hello beautiful people! Let's talk about body image and confidence:)

When you look in the mirror in the morning, you probably don't see yourself and say, "WELL HELLOOO GORGEOUS!!"( This also might be because you're not a morning person and can't form coherent sentences in the morning. I am guilty of this. xD ) Just  know you're not alone, and that pretty much every girl in the whole wide world has some sort of self-esteem issue. But it definitely is an isolating sort of feeling; you feel like no one else can see you struggling to love yourself and that you're the only one who is making such a big deal about it.  This sort of self-hate can really develop into a nasty problem if it's not addressed and taken care of.

Here are some DO's and DON'TS concerning body image and being confident/loving yourself:

DO surround yourself with people who you can trust

DON'T weigh yourself constantly, because that number on the scale does not determine your worth as a person

DO have Edna Mode for a life coach.
Seriously. Just watch this and you'll see what I mean.

DON'T listen to music that makes you want to lock yourself in your room and cry

DO go outside of your comfort zone and do things for others, doing good makes you feel good

DON'T compare yourself to others. There is no one like you, and comparing is a losing battle anyways.

DO live in the moment. Don't retreat inside yourself and think about what went wrong and how you could have prevented it. As a wise turtle from a great animated movie once said, "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present."

DON'T associate yourself with toxic people. If you know someone who cuts you down for no reason or just makes you feel bad about yourself, don't hang out with 'em, you're better off without that negativity. (P.S they probably have self-esteem issues too)

DO clean your room if it's messy. I know, you're probably thinking, "That has nothing to do with my self image heck no I'm not cleaning my room NO WAY JOSE"

-NEWS FLASH-
Clutter can actually have a negative effect on your ability to process and focus information. So basically, a clean room is a clean mind.

SO in conclusion, when you start loving yourself, you can love others more fully:)
Okay?

Hopefully these tips will help you in realizing how valuable and unique you are!! Sorry if I got a preachy at times, but this topic is really important to me. You guys have a good rest of the week and keep pushing on until the end of school!! :)
