Let's Start at the Very Beginning.........

Hello, Caroline here!!! Welcome to Mercy's, Isabelle's and my blog, here's a little bit about us and what we hope to share with you. :)
We all met about two years ago at the March for Life in Washington D.C., and INSTANTLY became best friends. It was kind of scary how fast we bonded. We all had a common interest in old movies, singing songs, and just being total weirdos. Although we only got to see each other in person once a year, we kept in touch through Skype. It was through Skype that the concept of a blog by girls for girls was brought up. True To You was Isabelle's brainchild, and both Mercy and I (Caroline) were enthusiastic about the idea. So, a couple days later we found ourselves with an empty blog and a lot of ideas. It was definitely a process getting set up over the internet (again, THANK YOU SKYPE), but we managed to pull it all together.  :)

We chose the name True To You because in today's world, it's easy to lose yourself due to society's messages telling you how to look and act. Being yourself can be extremely difficult because when you put yourself out there, chances are people are going to try and belittle you.  Usually, though, these actions are caused by jealousy, because there is nothing more attractive than a person who is confident with their own personality.  There's a quote by a lady named Marianne Williamson that may be familiar to you, but it perfectly sums up how we should view ourselves.

"Remember, our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously permit others to do the same. As we our liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."  ~  Marianne Williamson

Our goal with this blog is to supply refreshing and funny views on modern society, to recommend fashions that flatter your dignity and your figure, and to create a space where you can come and find people who share the same values and ideals.
At True To You, we want to encourage girls everywhere to be the best versions of themselves and to spread their light to others.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US:
We will post three times a week (or, at least, hope to.  You know how school can be.), and each day will have a different theme.
1.  Music/ D.I.Y. Mondays: On Mondays, we will alternate with music recommendations or discussions about certain songs, and also D.I.Y. projects that we will test out and review.  :)
2.  Woman Wednesdays: On Wednesdays, we will tackle issues facing girls and women today, offer advice on relationships, and just talk about why it's great being a girl, because trust us, it is fabulous.
3.  Fashion Fridays: On Fridays we will post about our fashion favorites!! We will review fashions, talk about our favorite items for the season, and offer some tips of our own!!
4.  Tuesdays and Thursdays are optional post days, so if one of THE LADIES has an extra piece they would like to share with everyone, then you can expect it to be on that day !:)

Thank you for checking out our blog!!! We hope you like it!!
