A Lesson From The French

Bonjour everyone!

It's amazing how much different cultures can influnce fashion that we wear here in the States without us even realizing it. The black and white stripped t-shirt has made a comeback that no one could really anticipate. Funny how this new and exciting staple piece, while it feels relatively new, has actually been worn by the French for ages.

The stripped T isn't the only thing the french have mastered in regardes to fashion that is trickling down to the States. Embelishing the neck with a French Twist has become more prevalent within fashion. Here are a few examples, from New York Spring Fashion Week 2016 and Paris Fashion Week: Fall 2016, of designers that are taking up this look and adding their own unique twist.

As soon as I saw this trend I fell in love with it instantly. Often times when I'm wearing a simple shirt I opt for a colorful scarf or necklace to add a dash of color. However, while I love a good infinity scarf as much as the next girl, I've been growing more and more bored with the limited ways of styling the scarf. So, when I stumbled upon the French Twist I was ecstatic. I found the French Twist to be a creative way to still add a dash of color to the simplest outfit, without over doing it, and a fun way to add an exotic flare to your outfit while looking timeless. Grab your Hermés scarf, hankerchief, bandana, you name it, and let's get started.

Styling tip: If you're going to be wearing a button-up shirt with a collar, direct your scarf knot towards the middle of your shirt or towards the back of your neck. If your shirt doesn't have a collar, tilt your scarf either to the right or left side.

Such a simple and doable combo. Get your favorite button-up, jeans and bandanna and voilà,

This trend is also a great way to mix and match with different patterns!

Not only is this scarf/shirt combo amazing, those shoes are to die for! Loving the dash of pink here!

Here are a few different places you can find some bandanas.

Hope y'all enjoyed this post! Tell us how you like to wear your scarves. À bientôt!
